Statement of Purpose
Applicant:
I hereby declare that I wrote the
following statement of purpose independently without using any sources or
auxiliary means other than the ones indicated and that everything stated is
true to the best of my knowledge.
Right from my early school
life I felt a strong predilection in the subjects like physics &
mathematics which facilitated me to choose the field of engineering and to
settle my goal accordingly. Getting admission in the Department of Electrical
and Electronic Engineering (EEE) in American International
University-Bangladesh through a very competitive admission test was my
foot-mark in the way of achieving my goal.
In the period of
undergraduate studies, I was mostly interested in power system, power station,
electrical machines & Industrial electronics. The more I studied rigorously
on these subjects, the more fascination to learn grew in my mind. Visiting to
different power plants, reading engineering journals gave me opportunities to
keep abreast of the latest development in power system. My undergraduate thesis
titled “Tele-operated War Robot”. After completion of my bachelor degree I
joined “Grameenphone” a renowned
telecom operator vendor as an Internee engineering in the power sector. After
successfully completed that internee I joined “DETEC Engineering and Technology” a renowned Multinational company
as operation and maintenance Engineer. But the thrust of learning was not done
yet. So I look for higher degree. I gave IELTS exam and got band score 7. Then
I had applied and got admitted in Linköping
University in Sweden in the department of Electrical Engineering for my
M.Sc. degree which is a highly reputed university. It was two years program.
Throughout my course I have achieved good result. My M.Sc. thesis title is “Understanding Sub-threshold Source Coupled
Logic for ultra low power applications”. This is a complete new logic for
achieving low power consumption. I have also created a library of this logic in
the “Cadence Virtuoso” for 65 and 45
nm processes. While working on it I have published several publications in IEEE
conferences and also international Journals. I went to Taiwan and Malaysia for
presenting my work. As I am dedicated to my country I returned after my M.Sc.
and now I am serving as a Senior
Lecturer in International University of Business Agriculture and Technology
(IUBAT), Dhaka, Bangladesh, in the department of Electrical and Electronic
Engineering. Before that I was in
Southeast University for last 6 years. Usually I take the undergraduate classes
of Analog and Digital Electronics, also Microwave Engineering. I have
supervised a several undergrad thesis work. Actually my research works,
my practical training and my courses have given me plenty of exposure to the
area of electronics engineering and I strongly believe that I have enough
aptitude to work in this field.
I believe that I possess the
motivation, intellectual ability and preparation to do justice to demanding
Ph.D. program. My excellent academic results both in undergraduate (CGPA 3.6)
and graduate (CGPA 3.75) are testimony of that. As I had already been to Europe
for two years and the medium of instruction was in English and also my
undergraduate medium of instruction was in English so I am confident enough
about my language proficiency. Though I had given IELTS exam before and
received a good score (Band score 7).
In the early age though I had started my career in the industrial sectors but
deep in my mind I have always wanted to be an researcher and to me teaching in
the University is the best profession which suits me most and full-fill my
desire. But there are not enough scopes
or opportunities to do research in the field of my interests in my country. I
want to make a change on this situation and do something for my country. Higher
study like pursuing Ph.D. will certainly help me to improve the conditions and
I could be guide for future students.
I have no doubt that CSC scholarship of Chinese Government is the appropriate selection for me, since it offers a wide range of funding facility and research options in the field of my interests and it also provides great scope and encouragement for intellectual and academic development. I believe that Ph.D. program in Electrical and Electronic Engineering could be the nucleus to accomplish my goal, as ample opportunities exist for a researcher like me to initiate independent study and to get involved in active research program. So, what else can be a better stepping stone for my carrier than this? Getting an admission into this esteemed department will make mu dream more auspicious than anything else.
Selecting China for perusing
Ph.D. is a big conclusion as the rapid economic growth of China is known by the
whole world. In the field of Electronics China is unbitten as they are giving
the electronic products in such cheaper price rest of the world is lagging
behind. As a result research in this field in a never ending process in China
and as I am also belong to the same background it will be a big opportunity for
me. Moreover, the diverse cultural values of China and Bengal-China friendly
relations make me feel China very friendly to me; my family is much satisfied
with China as my preference for my further study. These reasons altogether make
China as an ideal place for me.
